This is an interesting question, Honey is a debated topic in the vegan/vegetarian communities. Ultimately, Manuka Honey is an animal product so we don't make any claims to be vegan. We do however, believe strongly in the use of ethically and sustainably sourced honey, we don't test on animals and we involve ourselves and our customers in programs/causes that help the global honeybee population.

UMF stands for Unique Manuka Factor which is an industry measurement for the effectiveness of Manuka Honey. Sometimes Manuka Honey is rated by another term, MGO (methylglyoxal). Both measurements are useful indicators of the strength of Manuka Honey but UMF takes into account more factors that determine the overall quality of the Honey UMF measurements take this into account and also takes into account two other factors DHA (dihydroxyacetone) and Leptosperin. We use UMF15+ Manuka Honey in our products which can be converted to MGO 514+
