Manuka Honey is a product of New Zealand plant Leptospermum Scoparium. When bees pollinate from this plant, their honey is more potent than standard honey bee honey. This is because it has a high concentration of Methylglyoxal (MGO)
- Has strong antibacterial/antiviral properties: Manuka Honey has been used as natural antibiotics throughout the centuries. In recent years, researchers have discovered that Manuka Honey’s power to kill germs comes from hydrogen peroxide produced with the help of a bee enzyme and methylgloxal which comes from the nectar of the Manuka plant.Manuka honey is effective in killing pathogens, including antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Keeping the skin bacteria-free speeds up the healing process.
- Promotes wound healing: Manuka honey recruits the correct type of cells, known as fibroblasts, needed to help wounds heal. Aside from that, it also creates a moist environment and a protective barrier to speed up healing, which is why it's often used to treat wounds, burns, and ulcers.
- Is an effective anti-inflammatory: The anti-inflammatory properties of manuka honey have not been matched in honey derived from other species of bees
- Offers antioxidant protection: Manuka honey regulates skin-damaging reactive oxygen species (caused by exposure to free radicals), making it beneficial for anti-aging purposes.
- Draws moisture to the skin: "Manuka honey is a natural humectant due to its sugar component, meaning it helps draw in and retain moisture in the skin.

-
Anti-acne properties:
Niacinamide boasts sebum regulating and anti-inflammatory properties.
-
Skin repair and protection:
Niacinamide can help to speed up epidermal cell growth meaning that it can help with wound healing, it can also smooth the structure of the skin and it has also antibacterial and photo-protective properties.
